Very ornate Victorian-era silver plate creamer pitcher with glass creamer pitcher insert, unmarked as to maker, which is not uncommon for pieces like this. Near excellent condition with only a small amount of silver wear noted on the underside of the handle. (c. late 1800s)
Very ornate bands of repousse roses along the base and along the top band of the silverplate frame, which holds the glass creamer pitcher insert. The front of this Victorian silver frame has flowers and leaves. The exquisitely ornate hinged lid has roses and other patterns with a floral final with ring. Smooth heart-shaped handle. The glass pitcher creamer insert is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and has a lovely star-burst cut design in the base and a gently pour spout. (This insert may not be original but it is a perfect fit.)
This ornate Victorian-era silverplate lidded creamer pitcher measures 6" tall to the top of the finial, 4" from the outside edge of the hinge to the tip of the pouring spout, 5-1/2" from the outside edge of the handle to the outside edge of the under-spout decoration and weighs 14.7 ounces.
