Antique F. B. ROGERS SILVER CO. Quadruple Silverplate Covered Sugar Bowl & Creamer Set, with etched design on fronts with beautifully scripted monogram of an "H" or "T" first initial, "C" as a middle initial, and "B" as the last name initial.
This heavily silverplated set features a double handled covered sugar bowl, which is in extremely good condition overall, with only slight wear to the handles and a few small dots of discoloration to the inside. The only flaw is a light 1" long ding on the back of the sugar bowl, and two rough spots to the top of one of the applied handles. The remainder of the silverplate is in very good condition with only light surface rub marks and polishing scratches.
The silverplate sugar bowl measures approximately 6" between handles, stands 4-1/2" high and weighs 11.5 ounces. The matching silverplate creamer is also in extremely good condition, with no bumps, dimples or damage. The inside looks as if it were never used. Silverplate wear along the handle is noted, along with only light surface rub marks.
Overall, this is a very fine silverplate tea set. Touchmark on the base reads: TRADE MARK, F. B. ROGERS SILVER CO, with the F.B. Rogers logo of a crown 1883, TAUNTON MASS, QUADRUPLE and the pattern number of 4217. You can learn more about the history of F. B. Rogers Silver from our Silver Manufacturers pages.
