Do you repair and re-plate silver holloware items? No, I do not repair silver plate, nor do I re-plate silver hollowware items. Please see my Silversmith & Silver Restoration Directory page for a list of highly regarded craftsmen in this area.
Do you give appraisals or identifications on silver items? No, we do not. You can obtain an online silver or antiques appraisal by clicking this link. Or you may research your item online at the various search engines and online auction houses, or visit your local bookstore or library for books on antique silver or silver flatware for approximate valuations. I have also placed links at the Silver & Silverplate ID Self-Help Page to other sites which DO online appraisals for a nominal fee.
Local Buyers / Shoppers: We do not have a retail store, and we do not keep regular hours. Items are not available for pickup from our location. Do not drive out to visit, to see the merchandise, to shop or to obtain an appraisal. Silver, china and crystal merchandise from the shop are not located on the premises. We do not perform silver appraisals. Answers to any questions you may have are located on this page. We are an Internet-only company.
Do you purchase estate silver items or collectibles? We currently do not purchase estate silver or other collectibles for resale from individuals.
Shipping Policy: Your silver item will be shipped to you via USPS Priority Mail, fully insured with delivery confirmation. We do not ship UPS, DHL or FedEx. F.O.B. Shipping Point. FOB SHIPPING POINT (ORIGIN) Implies that the buyer assumes title and owns the goods in transit, pays the freight bill and handles any necessary claims for loss or damage. Ownership changes the moment items are shipped.
You will receive an email from PayPal/USPS which will include the U.S.P.S. delivery confirmation number for your shipment once your order has been processed and shipped. You can expect delivery of your fine antique within 2-4 business days in most cases. Overseas and Canadian shipping times will be longer.
Packages are shipped via United States Postal Service Priority Mail ONLY, fully insured with delivery confirmation inless otherwise noted. Most shipments are received within 2-4 business days of shipping. No UPS, DHL or FedEx shipping is available.
We at Abe Silverman's Antique Silver Shop know that antique silver pieces are unique items that cannot be replaced if the silver item is damaged due to poor packing. We understand the disappointment felt by a buyer when just one antique is lost. We commit ourselves to packing your items so well that no damage will occur during normal - and even abnormal - shipping conditions.

When it comes to shipping silver antiques, we have found that these reasonable minimal shipping rates are minor when compared to the cost of losing just one priceless item due to shipping damage. Shipping rates: Shipping costs in my secure checkout area are based on the individual item shipped USPS Priority Mail, First Class Mail or Parcel Post, fully insured with online delivery confirmation. If you purchase multiple items, and they all can be safely shipped in the same box, the shipping charge may be adjusted downward considerably and a refund issued. Not all items can be combined into one package to ensure the safe delivery of your purchased items.
The shipping costs displayed in the checkout cart are valid for all 50 States in the United States only. Georgia residents are charged Georgia State sales tax of 7% of the purchase price only.
If you live outside of the USA, including Canada, please email us for an estimated shipping cost. Your shipping cost will be higher than the costs to ship within the USA; in addition, you will be responsible for any taxes or import charges your country may charge. We do not mark packages as "gifts".
How do I pay with a credit card? Easily and securely! Just use my easy-to-use secure checkout to complete your sale! Click the BUY NOW button at the bottom of each page to begin the checkout process. All of your personal information and financial details are secure on the 128-bit encrypted site. We utilize PayPal to process credit card/debit card transactions.
What if I wish to pay with a money order or personal check? We no longer accept payment via personal check or money orders. Credit Card payments via PayPal only. Thank you.
What is your return policy? Abe guarantees that every item sold will be as advertised and photographed.
Each item will be accurately described and photographed with any unusual or un-expected silver or silverplate wear or damage noted. Please note that all of these items are vintage or antique, (pre-owned) and therefore will not be in pristine showroom condition. Normal and expected age and wear marks, in addition to age-related patina, will be present.
Unusual marks or damage, or unexpected or heavy silver or silverplate wear WILL be fully described in each listing and the detailed photos offered. These are NOT brand new items unless noted. Each item will be cleaned and polished before being sent to you so that you will have a ready to use or ready to display piece! (Click here for information on how we clean and polish your silver!)
The majority of the items that we sell are antique, vintage and/or have been used. These items come from many different places and because of this we do not always know if the items came from a smoke-free environment or under what conditions they may have been stored. We try to make sure that our items are as clean as possible and do not have an odor but sometimes it is not present until the item has been in an enclosed area (boxed). Any additional questions or concerns you have regarding a piece's condition should be addressed prior to purchasing.
The items sold in our shop are pre-owned and not brand new (unless noted). All sales are final. No returns. By clicking the BUY NOW button, you agree to these terms.
What if my item is damaged? In our over 27 years of shipping merchandise, we have never had an item delivered damaged or lost in the mail. I very carefully pack items using only NEW sturdy cardboard shipping boxes, tissue paper, bubble wrap and peanuts. All shipments are sent with delivery confirmation & insurance.
If, however, this unfortunate event does strike you, please save all the packing materials, the original box, and contact me immediately. Your local Post Office will need to inspect the item, the box and the packing materials. Every item is sent insured, I will complete my end of the paper work and submit same to you. You will work with your local Post Office to obtain your refund. The Post Office does not refund shipping and insurance costs.
